While some people are naturally more prone than others to having ingrown toenails, it is possible to adopt good daily habits to avoid them and keep your feet healthy. In this article, the nail supplies expert Maryton will tell you how to prevent ingrown toenails. Read on!
Here are some tips to avoid going through the “ingrown toenail”:
– A good nail cut is essential: be careful not to cut it too short, or in a semicircle, which encourages regrowth under the skin. Whether they are cut with round-tipped scissors or nail clippers, toenails must be cut straight, and form a 90° angle with the skin. The nail should ideally extend 2 to 3 millimeters. Do it after a bath or shower, the nails will have softened which will make your task easier!
– Choose comfortable shoes, adapted to your foot, to limit friction and trauma when walking. For example, wear sandals, which will let the foot breathe and eliminate impacts at the bottom of the shoe, whenever possible.
– Wear cotton socks, to limit sweating.
You can also avoid this type of problem by using manicure and pedicure sets specially formulated for this type of problem on a daily basis.
